CHS concert band rated Superior
The Superior rating qualifies the band to advance to state competition May 1 at GlenOak High School
The Carrollton High School Concert Band received straight I ratings, earning a Superior rating at the Ohio Music Education Association District 8 adjudicated event held March 6 at Hoover High School in North Canton.
Under the direction of head band director David Dickerhoof and assistant director Lorie Strader, the band performed three selections for three adjudicators, along with a sight-reading selection it had not seen before, which was judged by a separate adjudicator.
The Superior rating qualifies the band to advance to state competition May 1 at GlenOak High School.
Commenting on the rating, Dickerhoof said, “The judges were very impressed with our balance, blend, intonation and articulation. Mrs. Strader and I are very happy with the growth we have seen in our students over the last few years.”
