CHS 2024 graduates earn American Farmer Degrees

Dakota Ketchum and Dustin Ulman recognized at National FFA Convention for livestock projects and agricultural work experience

Two Carrollton High School FFA graduates received the American Farmer Degree during the National FFA Convention and Expo held Oct. 29–Nov. 1 in Indianapolis, Indiana. 

Recipients included Dakota Ketchum, a 2024 graduate of Carrollton High School and Buckeye Career Center and son of Zeph and Heather Casper. 

Ketchum earned his American FFA Degree from exhibiting and selling market steers at the Carroll County Fair as well as his paid placements at Lowmiller Farms and Haven Harvesting in South Dakota. 

Dustin Ulman, a 2024 graduate of Carrollton High School and Buckeye Career Center is the son of Darrin and Chris Ulman. 

Dustin Ulman earned his American FFA Degree from exhibiting and selling market lambs at the Carroll County Fair as well as his paid placement at Don's Custom Meats. 

According to Ryan Borland, FFA advisor, 17 students attended the National FFA Convention. While there, they attended four general sessions and listened to keynote speakers A'ric Jackson, Coach Kiah and National FFA Secretary Luke Jennings’ retiring address. 

Borland said members also attended the career expo at the convention center, the Buckeye Bash at Kelsay Farms, and toured the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the NCAA Hall of Champions and the hypnotist show. 

The CHS group included Kendall George, Lilly Kruprzak, Lauren Worth, Haley Leslie, Emma Vrsan, Claire Eshler, Myles Moore, Bailey Baker, Clint Kruprzak, Erin Shafer, Landon Barna, Alivia Gotschall, Gwen Sargeant, KJ Roudebush, Andrew Pridemore, Logan Pridemore and Wyatt Fiddler.
