Carrollton to participate in 39th annual Life Chain on Oct. 5
Residents invited to join national pro-life event; reception to follow at former Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.
On Sunday, Oct. 5, Carrollton residents are invited to join participants in hundreds of cities across the United States and Canada for the 39th annual Life Chain.
The event will take place from 2–3 p.m. on Canton Road between Main Street and 12th Street. Signs will be provided and can be picked up at Wesley Community Chapel, 569 12th St. NW, beginning Thursday, Sept. 28. For details, contact the Rev. Gordon Warner, pastor of Wesley Community Chapel and coordinator of the local event, at 330-627-2917.
“The Carrollton event is held annually as a public witness by Christians and other pro-life individuals wanting to challenge society to do further thinking about the abortion issue,” Warner said.
Following the Life Chain, the local Knights of Columbus will host a reception with light refreshments at the parish hall of the former Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 616 Roswell Road. All are welcome, even if they are unable to take part in the Life Chain.
