Carrollton High School’s Athletic Hall of Fame weekend will begin Friday, Dec. 19, when the Class of 2025 is introduced at the varsity boys basketball game against Salem, according to Mark Spears.
This year’s class features three individuals and one team whose achievements left a lasting mark on Carrollton athletics.
Scott Power, a 2000 graduate, will be inducted for his standout career in baseball and golf. Power was a three-year letterman in both sports, earned first-team all-league honors and was named all-Ohio in baseball his senior year.
Former head football coach Barry Goettemoeller will also be honored. Goettemoeller is the program’s all-time leader in wins and guided the Warriors to their first-ever playoff appearance and first playoff victory. His 2004 team captured the school’s only league championship in the past 53 years.
Johnny Lowdermilk, a 2011 graduate, will join the Hall of Fame for his accomplishments in football and basketball. Lowdermilk earned first-team all-state honors in football in 2009 before leading the basketball team to the only undefeated regular season in school history at 20-0. He was selected NBC Player of the Year and earned second-team all-Ohio honors that winter.
The 2004 Warrior football team will also be inducted. The team finished the regular season 9-1, won the NBC league title and still holds the record for most points scored in a regular season.
The Saturday, Dec. 20, breakfast will be held in the elementary commons area beginning at 8:45 a.m. Tickets may be purchased at the high school office and cost $15 for adults and $10 for school-aged children. The induction ceremony will follow in the high school auditorium.
