Carrollton Academic Challenge team advances to regional tournament
The Warriors finished the season with a 7-0 record in league play to advance
The Carrollton High School Academic Challenge varsity team qualified for regional tournament competition after defeating East Liverpool in the finals of the Jefferson County League tournament, according to team adviser Jason Eddy.
The Warriors finished the season with a 7-0 record in league play to advance to the regional tournament, which will be held Saturday, April 18, at Copley High School.
Eddy said the team performed consistently throughout the season while competing against other schools in the Jefferson County League. Academic Challenge competitions test students’ knowledge in subjects including history, science, literature, mathematics and current events.
The Carrollton junior varsity team also won the Jefferson County League title with a 4-0 record.
