Carroll County Auditor Staci Brady has announced that 2026 dog license sales will officially begin Saturday, Nov. 1, in partnership with DocuPet and the Carroll County Dog Warden’s Office.
“Dog owners still have until Jan. 31, 2026, to purchase or renew licenses for their pets. This year brings several new features, special events and promotions aimed at making the process easier — and more fun,” Brady said.
November special: Free designer tag offer
To celebrate the launch, all purchases made in November are eligible to receive one free designer tag. Use promo code CCFREETAG at checkout. Personalization and add-ons are extra. With more than 200 designs to choose from, there’s something for every dog’s personality. Licenses can also be personalized with a pet’s name and the owner’s contact number for added peace of mind.
Community events: Buy your license in person
For the first time, the auditor’s office will host mobile licensing events. Staff will be on-site at Tractor Supply in Carrollton on Nov. 8, 15 and 22 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“Pup-arazzi Day” kickoff Nov. 8
Brady invites the public to join the kickoff celebration Nov. 8. Participants can bring their dogs and pose for a free photo in front of a themed backdrop. Staff will take pictures using visitors’ phones or cameras.
To wrap up the season, licenses will also be sold at Ace Hardware in Carrollton on Jan. 30 and 31 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
No need to replace a tag that’s still in great shape
Dog owners do not have to replace tags each year. If a pet’s DocuPet tag is still in good condition and easy to read, the owner may opt out of receiving a new one. When renewing online, click the yellow banner that reads, “My pet’s DocuPet tag is fine. Please do not send me a new one.” This option helps reduce waste and allows pets to keep their familiar tag.
