Two township fire tax levy renewals will appear on the May 5 primary election ballot.

They include a Perry Township proposal for a 1-mill levy amounting to $35 per $100,000 of appraised property value for five years, commencing in 2027 and first due in calendar year 2028.

The second is a proposed renewal of a 0.7-mill levy for Union Township amounting to $24.50 per $100,000 of appraised property value for five years, commencing in 2026 and first due in calendar year 2027.

Both levy requests were filed by the Feb. 4 deadline with the Carroll County Board of Elections.
