Carroll County Democrats donate food, $250 to support local families
The library will take the food to Loaves and Fishes for distribution to the public
Keeping with the spirit of giving over the Christmas season, the Carroll County Democratic Central Committee donated nonperishable food items and a check for $250 to the Carroll County District Library at its monthly meeting at the library Dec. 8.
The library will take the food to Loaves and Fishes for distribution to the public. The Democrats are making similar donations to area social service agencies each month to help alleviate the shortage of food and funds created by the government shutdown that affected people on the STEP program.
Anyone or any group that wishes to add to the Democrats’ contributions can call party chairman Tom Postlethwhait at 330-627-5609 or bring items or checks to the Democrats’ monthly meeting, held the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at the library.
