The Christmas season was ushered in by a well-attended and appreciative audience during the Dec. 9 combined concert by the Carrollton High School band and choir.

Titled “A Christmas Festival,” the program featured separate selections by the choir under the direction of Mindy Domer and the band conducted by Head Band Director David Dickerhoof and Assistant Director Lori Strader.

The evening concluded with a combined performance, “A Festive Christmas Celebration,” which included “I Saw Three Ships,” “Ding Dong! Merrily on High!,” “Deck the Hall” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” directed by Dickerhoof and Domer.

A notable feature of the concert was the number of students who performed in both ensembles. According to the program, 31 students moved between band and choir for the performance, which showcased 21 seniors, 21 juniors, 30 sophomores and 30 freshmen.

The polished concert reflected the strong training in Carrollton High School’s instrumental and vocal departments, where students put in extensive time, dedication and rehearsal to develop their skills.

The audience responded with enthusiastic and extended applause.
