270 Carrollton High honor students join Academic Hall of Fame

Annual induction recognizes sophomores, juniors and seniors for consistent honor roll achievement

A total of 270 Carrollton High School honor students, including sophomores, juniors and seniors, were inducted into the Academic Hall of Fame during an awards program held Sept. 10 in the CHS gym.

The inductees, shown in the accompanying five photos, included 126 first-year members, 92 second-year members and 52 third-year members.

According to CHS Principal Jason Eddy, the Academic Hall of Fame was established in 1986 to promote academic achievement and provide more recognition of honor roll students.

Students must make the honor roll every nine weeks from the previous school year to qualify for the Academic Hall of Fame.

“To make the honor roll, you must have a minimum 3.0 GPA for the nine-week grading period with no D’s or F’s,” he explained.

The program included a welcome and introduction by Principal Eddy, opening remarks by School Superintendent David L. Davis and presentation of certificates by Eddy, Assistant Principal Craig Brooks and school counselors Renae Gross and Amanda Whaley.
