Overcoming life’s everyday problems and situations can be a challenge, but when Nick Vujicic was born without arms and legs, he would not let that stop him from making an impact.

Vujicic will come to Wooster to share his personal story during Gospel Hope: An Evening with Nick Vujicic Friday, May 1 at the Greystone Event Center, an event hosted by Upward Bound Youth.

The public is invited to this free event to hear evangelist and motivational speaker Nick Vujicic, who also is the author of Life Without Limbs and the founder of NickV Ministries.

The evening will feature worship, encouragement and a powerful Gospel message.

Vujicic’s ministry Life Without Limbs centers on sharing hope, faith and purpose by encouraging people to overcome adversity and discover their value in God’s eyes.

Nick Vujicic's inspiring story has brought hope to many people, and his faith has played a large role in his story.

Born without arms or legs due to tetra-amelia syndrome, he uses his life story to show limitations don’t define a person’s potential. His inspiring story emphasizes resilience, positive mindset and trusting God through hardship.

Vujicic’s evangelism spans many areas of life including prison outreach, anti-bullying campaigns, and people facing disability, depression or life challenges.

In the face of adversity, Vujicic gives hope, builds faith and shows people life can be lived with purpose no matter their circumstances.

In bringing him to Wooster, Upward Bound Ministries is excited to see how he can inspire people in the community and beyond.

"We’re honored to host this event,” said Aliyah Gonzalez, creative manager with Upward Bound Ministries. “We want this to be a blessing to everyone who takes time to come and hear Nick’s incredible story.”

Upward Bound Ministries is a nonprofit, youth-based organization in Wayne County that seeks to spread the Gospel of Jesus. It offers youth nights, community events and other ways to support youth in the area.

UBM also partners with national and international organizations to spread the Gospel.

“Our goal is to teach truth and equip youth to be transformed in every area of their lives,” Gonzalez said. “We want to invest in the next generation.”

Tickets are free. If anyone would like to support the event, a suggested donation of $10 per attendee would be appreciated. Families and guests of all ages are welcome.

Doors will open and check-in will begin at 6 p.m. The event will conclude around or before 9 p.m. Preregistration is not required for the event, but it is recommended. Register by visiting www.upwardboundyouth.org/events.
