ProArteOHIO to perform in Wooster
Columbus choir presents 'American Portrait' concert at Zion Lutheran Church
ProArteOHIO, an all-professional vocal choir from Columbus, will present its spring concert program, “American Portrait,” at Zion Lutheran Church, 301 N. Market St., Wooster.
Tickets are $10 and will be available at the door or online at www.rebrand.ly/pftnjtq.
The program will celebrate the diverse voices that have contributed to the American experience. Varied selections have been assembled to create a musical portrait marking the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.
Folk songs, folk hymns and spirituals — long central to American musical tradition — will be highlighted. The program also will include patriotic songs, concert works and choral arrangements of popular songs from their time.
Audience members will have opportunities to participate in the performance, joining ProArteOHIO singers in select pieces throughout the concert.
