Norwayne leads All-WCAL softball selections
The Bobcats went 14-0 and had six all-league honorees
Norwayne went 14-0 in Wayne County Athletic League softball play, extending its league winning streak to 28 games and leading the all-league selections with six honorees.
The Bobcats were led by Riley Gwinn, MaKenna Heyden, Abby Workman, C.J. Moore, Kenzie Nawrocki and Piper Moore.
Coach Bree Robinson guided Norwayne through a perfect league season while also navigating the birth of her first child, Jordee Marie, March 31. Within 2 1/2 weeks, Robinson led the Bobcats against their two toughest league opponents and a 19-5 champion team while helping the program check a perfect league season off its goals list.
Workman, a senior who excelled in the circle and at the plate from her leadoff spot, was named the league’s Most Valuable Player. Robinson was named Coach of the Year after guiding Norwayne to another league championship.
Gwinn, C.J. Moore and Heyden earned first-team selections for Norwayne. Nawrocki and Piper Moore were named to the second team.
