Wayne County Historical Society to host Grant presentations
Living historian to portray Ulysses S. Grant in two programs
The Wayne County Historical Society will present two programs featuring Ulysses S. Grant at the schoolhouse on the grounds of the WCHS.
“President Grant” will be presented at 7 p.m. April 29, and “General Grant” will be presented at 1 p.m. April 30.

Dr. Curt Fields has portrayed General and President Grant in 22 states. As a living historian, Fields portrayed General Grant at the 150th sesquicentennial observances of Fort Donelson, Shiloh, Vicksburg and Lee’s surrender to Grant at Appomattox Court House, Virginia.
Fields’ presentations are delivered in the first person, quoting from General Grant’s memoirs, as well as articles and letters the general wrote and statements he made in interviews or wrote himself.
