The United Way of Tuscarawas County will launch its 2025 fundraising campaign with a kickoff event Sunday, Nov. 9, at Dola Jean’s, 113 W. Third St., in downtown Dover.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the 2025 Campaign Chair, John Maxwell, while enjoying a pizza buffet, small bites, beer and mocktails. Guests will also learn about the many ways local businesses, organizations and individuals can support the United Way’s mission.

Two serving times will be offered: 2 to 3:30 p.m. and 4 to 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 and space is limited. Reservations can be made online at www.tuscunitedway.org/events, where attendees can select their preferred time slot.

Dolly Parton, in the form of a life-size cutout, made appearances around Tuscarawas County.

The event marks the start of the United Way’s new fundraising season, which will spotlight how to set up workplace giving campaigns and how to become a campaign solicitor. Funds raised will support the organization’s 12 partner agencies, including AccessTusc, Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Central Ohio, Harcatus Community Action Organization, Mobile Meals of Dover-New Philadelphia, Noah’s Hope Child Advocacy Center, OhioGuidestone, Salvation Army, Society for Equal Access, Tuscarawas Clinic for the Working Uninsured, T4C (Tuscarawas County Council for Church & Community), Tuscarawas County YMCA and TUFF Bags.

Donations also fund United Way’s direct services, such as Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, the 211 Crisis Help Line and the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program.

“The United Way of Tuscarawas County plays such a critical role in strengthening our community by supporting local programs that help families meet basic needs, give children a strong start and ensure everyone has the opportunity to thrive,” Maxwell said. “I believe deeply in the power of neighbors helping neighbors and the difference we can make when we come together.”
