The Tusky Valley Ruritan Club met Tuesday, Oct. 21, for its monthly dinner meeting at St. Paul’s Community Church in Mineral City. Twelve members attended.
The ladies of the church served beef and deer chili dinners with cheese, sour cream, Fritos and crackers, homemade cornbread with butter and jelly, and tossed salad with fixings. Drinks included water, punch and decaf coffee. Dessert pies were pumpkin, cherry and pecan.
Club member Amy Burrier reported that volunteers were not greatly needed at the Sparks of Giving event, with only two members helping direct traffic.
Members discussed storage of the food trailer. Club member Dick Gooding offered continued free storage at Gooding’s Nursery, where campers, pontoons and sailboats are commercially stored. Club member Jim Downing will work on replacing another window and winterizing the trailer.
President Randie McRobie will attend the Ruritan Ohio District Convention in Smithfield, Nov. 8.
The club’s holiday dinner will be held Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Tusky Valley Community Center on the Tusky Valley Local School District campus. Kathy Stotzer will cater the event.
