The year 2026 will be a special one as America celebrates its 250th birthday. Tuscarawas Valley Heritage Inc. awards $250 field trip grants to classes in and around the Tuscarawas Valley to visit the county’s historic attractions, and the organization has set a goal of funding 250 field trips in honor of the nation’s semiquincentennial.

Tuscarawas Valley Heritage was created in 2005 to educate the public about the history, heritage, culture, qualities and traditions of the Tuscarawas Valley. A key part of its mission involves promoting the area’s historic sites and supporting travel and tourism. The organization works to raise awareness of the county’s historical, cultural and economic strengths.

Since its founding and through 2024, Tuscarawas Valley Heritage has awarded more than $45,000 to 102 school groups for field trips to sites across the county. That support has enabled approximately 6,550 students to participate in educational visits. The organization also provides grants to historical sites for special projects.

Tuscarawas Valley Heritage is now reaching out to the public to help achieve its 2026 goal of funding 250 field trips at $250 each for America’s 250th. As a 501c3 organization, all donations are tax deductible. Contributions of any amount are welcome and may be sent to:
