The Tuscarawas County Public Library System will host local astronomy enthusiast Terry Barnhill at the Main Library Monday, Jan. 12, at 6:30 p.m.

Barnhill will discuss the universe and some of its more unusual neighbors, as well as the best ways to view them, in a program titled “Our Universe: Past, Present and Future.”

“The library offers a lot of opportunities for exploring a topic of interest, and the night sky is one of them,” Support Services Manager Cara Randall said. “In addition to Terry Barnhill’s program, there is a wide array of resources in our Library of Things that can help you learn more.”

The Library of Things at the Tuscarawas County Public Library System includes new technology, health tools, STEAM kits and other items available for checkout. For astronomy enthusiasts, the library offers two telescopes, one designed for beginners and another for more experienced users, which can be borrowed with a library card.

Those interested in attending the program may register online at tusclibrary.org or call the Main Library at 330-364-4474.

The Tuscarawas County Public Library is located at 121 Fair Avenue New Philadelphia.
