Tuscarawas County Democratic Party picnic to feature Dr. Amy Acton
The Tuscarawas County Democratic Party will host its Picnic at the Park Saturday, Aug. 16, from noon to 5 p.m. at the Tuscora Park former Park Place Teen Center pavilion.
Food service will begin at 1 p.m., with burgers, hot dogs, chips and soft drinks available. Free ride tickets for Tuscora Park attractions will be provided, and door prizes will be awarded throughout the day. Guests must be present to claim prizes. There is no fee to attend, though donations will be accepted.
Special guest Dr. Amy Acton, Democratic candidate for governor of Ohio, will speak from 3–5 p.m. Other speakers include Laura Sirot, Democratic candidate for the Ohio Senate in District 31; Elliot Forhan, Democratic candidate for Ohio attorney general; Joe Sterling, president of the Hall of Fame Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO; and Jeff Mamarella, Tuscarawas County treasurer.
Organizers invite the public to “come as you are” for an afternoon of food, fellowship and political engagement.
