Tuscarawas commissioners name Shively planning director
Shively brings experience in county development and planning from his most recent tenure with the Tuscarawas County Economic Development Corp
The Tuscarawas County commissioners have selected James C. Shively as director of the County Planning Commission.
Shively holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Ohio University and an associate degree in multimedia website and graphic design. He will begin the role May 4.
Shively brings experience in county development and planning from his most recent tenure with the Tuscarawas County Economic Development Corp. His work there included projects involving strategic planning, site development and certification, grant writing, brownfield development and land-use planning.
He currently serves on the executive committee for the Ohio Council of Port Authorities and the advisory committee for Team NEO. Shively also is an alumnus of Leadership Tuscarawas.
He brings proficiency in advanced software systems and GIS technology.
Shively has firsthand knowledge of the community and is a graduate of Meadowbrook High School.
