Sugarcreek teen critically injured in Wayne Township crash
State Highway Patrol says 16-year-old driver was flown to Akron City Hospital after two-vehicle collision at Dundee Strasburg Road and Route 93

The New Philadelphia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle crash that left a 16-year-old driver with life-threatening injuries. The crash occurred Nov. 6, at 4:55 p.m. at the intersection of Dundee Strasburg Road and state Route 93 in Wayne Township, Tuscarawas County.
According to investigators, a white 2014 Ford Focus driven by Kendra N. Yoder, 16, of Sugarcreek, was traveling west on Dundee Strasburg Road when she failed to yield at a stop sign and was struck on the driver’s side by a maroon 2015 Dodge Ram driven by Todd N. Jacobson, 57, of Bolivar. Both vehicles went off the west side of state Route 93 before coming to rest off the roadway.
Yoder sustained life-threatening injuries and was flown by Med Flight to Akron City Hospital. Her passenger, Merlin J. Troyer, 18, of Sugarcreek, received minor injuries and was not transported. Jacobson also suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office, Sugarcreek Fire Department and EMS, Dundee Fire Department and EMS, Med Flight, Chad’s Towing and D & S Towing.
