Students honored with Trojan Spirit of Music Award

Band and choir boosters honor five young musicians for passion, teamwork and excellence across all grade levels

Those honored were Ben Fortune, high school band; Shelby Hilles, high school choir; Ava Seward, middle school band; Carson Smalley, middle school choir; and Nathan Li, elementary band.

The Tusky Valley Band and Choir Boosters recognized several students with the Trojan Spirit of Music Award during the booster meeting recently.

Students were nominated by their music directors for showing passion, commitment, teamwork, growth and musical excellence across the Tusky Valley music program during the first nine weeks of the 2025-26 school year.

Those honored were Ben Fortune, high school band; Shelby Hilles, high school choir; Ava Seward, middle school band; Carson Smalley, middle school choir; and Nathan Li, elementary band.
