Strasburg drama club to present ‘The History of Dating’
'The History of Dating' is a lighthearted look at the ups and downs of dating through the ages
“The History of Dating” by Brian D. Taylor, produced by special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Service Inc. of Denver, Colorado, will be presented by the Strasburg High School/Middle School drama club Friday, March 20, and Saturday, March 21, at 7 p.m. at Strasburg High School, 140 N. Bodmer Ave. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. Tickets are $5.
“The History of Dating” is a lighthearted look at the ups and downs of dating through the ages.
Professor Curio, played by Violet Thomas, and Professor Amore, played by Maya Fierbaugh, will lead the audience on a journey from early life, including cavemen and women, to computer dating in the 21st century. The cast also visits ancient Greek, Roman and Egyptian civilizations before moving into more modern times.
“After two years of producing a thriller and a drama, the cast and crew were ready for a farce." theater and drama adviser Rachel Ripley said. "The energy is high, and the laughs are loud,”
The cast includes Maya Fierbaugh, James Fischer, Violet Thomas, Madeline Ward, Riley Fry, Wyatt Hilton, Shelby Kinsey, Jayden Shook, Madelyn Slone, Mia Gehring, Andelyn Jones, Sadie Thomas, Noelle Paisley, Addison Tristano, Ryan Might, Kadience Carpenter, Ellie Harstine, Reese Hayes, Brooke Horne and Finn Sheahan.
The crew includes Nicole Bowersock, sound; Maddison Bowers and Amelia Zedaker, lights; Kelsey Patterson and McKenzie Mitchell, stage managers; and Shania Bunton, Destinie Bunton, Cloey Colwell, Hunter McNiff and Andrew Pyle, stage crew.
