St. John UCC launches monthly life-skills speaker series in Strasburg
Free sessions start Oct. 9 with funeral pre-planning; topics to follow include scam prevention, probate tips, and OTC drug safety.
Strasburg St. John United Church of Christ is hosting a monthly speaker series designed to aid and educate in areas of everyday life.
The first presentation is Oct. 9. The topic is funeral pre-planning, led by John Dalcoma of Toland-Herzig Funeral Home. The sessions are informational, and Dalcoma will present decisions to consider when planning a funeral. Attendees will receive a worksheet to mark options as they are presented. Dalcoma will also provide a total cost estimate based on individual selections.
Future topics include elder scam prevention by Kelsey McConaha of Dover-Phila Federal Credit Union Nov. 13. Judge Adam Wilgus will speak on avoiding probate, and Heather Spinell of Absolute Pharmacy will discuss over-the-counter drug awareness in 2026.
The series is free and open to the public, but registration is requested for planning purposes. Presentations will be held the second Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. To register, contact St. John United Church of Christ at 330-878-5113.
