Schoenbrunn and TuscParks to host history and nature hike
Schoenbrunn Village will partner with TuscParks to present a new event, Nature Trails into History: Explore the Past through Nature, Saturday, Nov. 8. The program will be held rain or shine, with Nov. 9 set as the severe weather date.
Two hike sessions are scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon and 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. The event is geared toward participants ages 12 and older.
“It will be focused on travel through the Ohio Country, and it involves around a one-mile hike through the lower level,” said site director Devin Immel. He noted that the hike may cover uneven ground and terrain.
Organizers said the event will blend history and nature, with discussions on foraging, the fur trade and other aspects of the natural world that shaped early culture. Participants will also be able to feel furs during the hike and tour Schoenbrunn Village afterward.
Tickets are $8 and limited to 30 participants. For more information, call 330-808-4815.
