The fundraiser will take place Thursday, Sept. 18, from 5-7 p.m. at Tuscora Park in New Philadelphia.

Fifth annual event raises scholarship funds with Buckeye-themed prizes, gift certificates and autographed memorabilia delivered to vehicles.

The Ohio State Alumni Club of Tuscarawas County will host its fifth annual Drive-up Fishing Expedition to raise scholarship funds for local students attending The Ohio State University.

The fundraiser will take place Thursday, Sept. 18, from 5-7 p.m. at Tuscora Park in New Philadelphia. Cars will enter from Tuscora Avenue and move along Al Maloney Midway, past the tennis courts. Participants can purchase a “catch of the day” for $20, with each prize valued at a minimum of $20. Volunteers will deliver winnings directly to vehicles.

Items include Ohio State–themed decorations, shirts, blankets, scarves, artwork, pillows, towels, purses, Christmas ornaments, gift certificates, and merchandise from area businesses. Autographed photos, footballs and mini helmets signed by current and former Buckeyes will also be available. Each “catch” comes with a $5 Roosters Wings gift certificate.

“This is a great opportunity for everyone in Tuscarawas County to help us raise scholarship funds for students to attend Ohio State and to get some great items without leaving the comfort of their vehicle,” club President Martha Campbell said.

The club awarded $24,500 in scholarships to Tuscarawas County students for the 2025-26 school year.

Donations of prizes are welcome and can be arranged by contacting Colleen and Jim Milliken at 330-364-6829 or osutusc@gmail.com. Payments at the event will be accepted in cash, Venmo or check, made payable to “OSU Foundation.”
