Navarre-Bethlehem Township Historical Society shares updates
The 2026 calendars are now on sale
The final meeting of 2025 for the Navarre-Bethlehem Township Historical Society included the election of officers for 2026. Officers are Tom Diehl, president; Eric Meyer, vice president; Ken Deal, treasurer; and Shirley Conkle, secretary.
The 2026 calendars are now on sale. This year’s calendar, titled “Gone But Not Forgotten,” can be purchased at Real Deals on the corner of Main and Canal streets, Village Hall on Canal Street, Scriptshop Pharmacy on Erie Street and Rise Up Cafe on Canal Street, or by calling 330-879-5938. The cost is $10.
Members also discussed the village’s Christmas in Bethlehem event and ways to improve turnout for the historical society museum’s open house and boutique sales. The society thanked everyone who visited its buildings and shopped in the boutique. The event brought many people to Navarre and local businesses.
The Mathews House Museum, the Linda Hug Art Gallery and the Ohio-Erie Canal Room will be closed until after the Village Wide Garage Sale May 14, 15 and 16, 2026. The Heritage Education Building will be open from 9 to 11:30 a.m. most Wednesdays from Jan. 14 through May 20. Volunteers will work at the complex on those days. The schedule will follow Fairless Local Schools’ weather-related closings.
After May 20, all buildings will be open from 9 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesdays through September. For a private tour, call 330-879-5938 and leave a message.
The society continues to collect clean aluminum cans, which can be dropped off outside the Heritage Education Building in the blue barrels. This project has been successful and helps cover utility costs throughout the year. The society extends its thanks to supporters.
