Lunch and Learn to feature beekeeping program Feb. 19
The Lunch and Learn series is sponsored by the Dover Public Library and is held on the third Thursday of each month
Ray Wirt, vice president of the Tuscarawas County Beekeepers Association, will be the guest speaker for the Dover Public Library Lunch and Learn program at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, at the Tuscarawas County Senior Center, 425 Prospect St., Dover.
Wirt will share what he has learned during 14 years of keeping honeybees in Strasburg. He began with two hives and has expanded to more than 40 hives at four locations.
Wirt has served as president and vice president of the Tuscarawas County Beekeepers Association during the past 13 years and currently serves as vice president. He teaches beekeeping at Buckeye Career Center in New Philadelphia and gives public presentations throughout the year. He recently joined the Ohio State Beekeepers Association traveling speakers group.
The Lunch and Learn series is sponsored by the Dover Public Library and is held on the third Thursday of each month at the Tuscarawas County Senior Center.
A $25 annual social membership is required to participate in Lunch and Learn programs at the senior center. To register, call the senior center at 330-364-6611.
