Library offering introductory technology classes for 2026
Patrons can build confidence, strengthen résumés and learn essential digital skills

The Tuscarawas County Public Library System will offer a variety of introductory technology classes in early 2026 to help residents build confidence, strengthen résumés and learn essential digital skills.
“My goal is to create a welcoming space where anyone can learn technology,” said Technology Training Coordinator Leigh Burnham. “From basic computer skills to beginner-friendly introductions to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, these classes help people feel more confident and capable using everyday tech.”
January and February classes include:
Computer Basics
Strasburg Branch
Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2 p.m.
A hands-on introduction to powering on a computer, using a mouse, navigating the desktop, opening simple programs, browsing the internet, and using a keyboard. No experience required. Limit: 8.
Google Photos
Main Library
Tuesday, Jan. 20, 10 a.m. or 1 p.m.
Learn to organize, store, and share photos and videos. A Google account is required. Limit: 8 per session.
Intro to Microsoft Word
Main Library
Wednesday, Jan. 28, 10 a.m.
Learn to create and edit documents, format text, adjust spacing, use copy/paste tools, and save, print, and create PDFs. Limit: 6.
Intro to Microsoft Excel
Main Library
Wednesday, Jan. 28, 11:30 a.m.
Covers entering data and formulas, moving and copying information, formatting worksheets, and preparing spreadsheets for printing. Limit: 6.
Intro to Microsoft PowerPoint
Main Library
Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2 p.m.
Learn to create slides, add text and images, apply simple design elements, organize presentations, and run slideshows. Limit: 6.
Canva for MakerSpace
Main Library
Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2 p.m.
Learn to use Canva, a free web-based graphic design tool, to create projects for the library’s MakerSpace. A personal email address is required. Limit: 8.
