Leadership Tuscarawas accepting applications

The Signature Program is a leadership experience designed to cultivate informed, engaged and collaborative community leaders

The 10-month program is designed to help participants develop a working knowledge of Tuscarawas County.

Leadership Tuscarawas is accepting applications for its 2026-27 Signature Program class through July 10. Early application is encouraged, as the class fills quickly.

The Signature Program is a leadership experience designed to cultivate informed, engaged and collaborative community leaders. Participants gain behind-the-scenes access to the people, organizations and systems that shape Tuscarawas County through direct interaction with business executives, elected officials, nonprofit directors and civic leaders.

The program begins with a mandatory, intensive two-day retreat at Mohican Lodge and Convention Center Aug. 13-14. The retreat establishes a foundation for relationship-building, self-assessment and goal setting.

Following the retreat, participants attend nine full-day, hands-on sessions held on the second Tuesday of each month at locations throughout the county. Each session focuses on a key community sector such as economic development, education, health care, government and human services, providing in-depth exploration of local opportunities and challenges.

The program also includes more than 30 professional leadership development modules designed to strengthen personal effectiveness and organizational impact. Topics include servant leadership, emotional intelligence, multisensory learning, personality style assessment, interpersonal communication, leading change, ethics, and influence and persuasion, among others.

Applicants must live and/or work in Tuscarawas County. Tuition is $2,000. Applications and additional information are available at www.kent.edu/tusc/bcs/leadership-tuscarawas.
