Kent State Tuscarawas golf outing to benefit scholarships
During the past 24 years, the event has raised more than $110,000
Kent State University at Tuscarawas will sponsor the 25th annual Scholarship Golf Outing Friday, May 15, at Oak Shadows Golf Club in New Philadelphia. Registration for the four-player, 18-hole scramble will begin at 8:30 a.m., with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. Greens fees include lunch at the turn and a steak dinner.
The registration deadline is May 8. Proceeds will benefit Alumni Legacy Scholarships for students at Kent State Tuscarawas. The event is open to the public.
Several levels of sponsorship are available. Sponsors to date include Baltic State Bank; Boltaron; Comdoc Inc.; Mike and Franscene Davis; Dover Hydraulics; Dover-Phila Federal Credit Union; Ferris Chevrolet; First Federal Community Bank; First National Bank of Dennison; Huntington National Bank; Kennedy Insurance; Kemp Insurance; Kurz-Kash; McDonald’s Restaurants of Harrison and Tuscarawas counties; Neidenthal & Co.; Nelson Insurance-SeibertKeck; Nathan C. Springer DDS; R&J Machine; SSB Community Bank; TMK Bakersville/TMK Valley Propane; Trinity Health System Twin City Medical Center; local Wendy’s restaurants; and WTUZ Radio.
“It’s a fun way companies and individuals can get involved to help out our students,” Kent State Tuscarawas Dean and Chief Executive Officer Brad Bielski said. “We are always striving to provide more opportunities and access for local individuals to pursue college.”
During the past 24 years, the event has raised more than $110,000. The funds support four $1,000 Alumni Legacy Scholarships awarded each year, help sustain the Alumni Legacy Scholarship endowment fund and support the growth and development of the Kent State Tuscarawas Alumni Association.
