Do you have a passion for gardening and would like to share your experience in horticulture, landscaping or your love of flowers? Friends of the Library – NP is preparing to host its eighth annual Garden Tour fundraiser July 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“While the event is months away, the planning committee is accepting participant forms from Tuscarawas County residents interested in showcasing their property to guests this summer,” said Friends President Candy Beaber.
The self-guided tour typically features six to eight gardens in Tuscarawas County. Previous tours have included a variety of garden types and plants, including historic, edible and wildflower gardens, along with features such as gazebos, decorative stone and fountains.
Those interested in showcasing a garden, landscape or decorative lawn decor should contact the library at 330-364-4474, ext. 221, or email tcplevents@tusclibrary.org by Friday, Feb. 27. Friends members will review submitted forms and reach out to confirm acceptance by Monday, March 16.
Proceeds from the tour will benefit the Tuscarawas County Library Foundation. The Friends has raised more than $11,000 for the foundation through the annual garden tour.
The library foundation, formed in 2019, provides a way for the library to receive gifts that, through investment and growth, will support the Tuscarawas County Public Library System and its customers for years to come.
In the event of rain, the tour will be held Sunday, July 12, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Friends of the Library – NP meets at 10:30 a.m. the second Tuesday of each month at 121 Fair Ave. NW, New Philadelphia.
