Focus Point Photography Club announces 2026 photo contest

Annual competition invites photographers of all levels to showcase their work at Tuscarawas County Center for the Arts, with proceeds supporting local arts programs

Entries will be displayed in the Folland Gallery about a week after entry day and will remain on public exhibit until the closing reception Feb. 28, 2026.

The Focus Point Photography Club, based in Tuscarawas County, will sponsor its annual photography contest in cooperation with the Tuscarawas County Center for the Arts, with all proceeds benefiting the center.

Entry day is Friday, Jan. 9, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Tuscarawas County Center for the Arts, 461 Robinson Drive SE, New Philadelphia. See the entry form for additional drop-off options. Entries will be displayed in the Folland Gallery about a week after entry day and will remain on public exhibit until the closing reception Feb. 28, 2026. Entrants may choose to offer their photographs for sale during the exhibit, with buyers able to retrieve purchases after the closing reception.

Photographers of all skill levels are encouraged to enter. Photos taken with either cameras or cell phones are accepted. Entrants should follow the contest rules listed on the entry form and remember that judges will consider the quality of presentation, including mounting, matting and framing, along with subject matter and composition.

The five contest categories are landscape/cityscape, animal/insect/nature, people, architecture—which changes each year—and open, which includes any subject not covered in the other categories or photos that are creatively or digitally manipulated beyond the norm. Black-and-white photos may be entered in any category.

Each entry requires a completed entry form and a $5 per photo cash entry fee. Forms are available on the Focus Point Facebook page at facebook.com/groups/657697142019932, or by emailing j.a.murray@roadrunner.com or christy.penland@gmail.com.
