The Dover Township trustees invite residents of all ages to an open house and touch-a-truck event from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 11, at their office, 2000 Red Hill Road.
Attendees will have an opportunity to meet trustees, members of the Dover Fire Department and the Dover Township road crew. Vehicles and equipment from both agencies will be on site, and guests will be treated to popcorn, cookies and beverages.
“We haven’t held an open house event since our new facility opened in 2014, and we think it’s very important to give our residents a chance to meet with us and to see exactly where their tax dollars are going,” trustee Mark Digenova said. “We’re proud to show the community everything that happens behind the scenes here at Dover Township.”
The township road crew consists of three full-time employees responsible for managing and maintaining five cemeteries and nearly 50 miles of roadways year-round.
Residents will also see Issue 9 for a continuing fire, rescue and ambulance levy on the ballot in November. The township has not sought an emergency services levy since 1995.
Trustees remind residents they can share concerns or questions at the open house or at any regular meeting. Trustees meet at 6 p.m. the first and third Tuesday of each month. More information is available at www.dovertownship.us.
