Dover Light and Power marks 115 years with community open house
Oct. 5 event features tours, bucket truck rides and refreshments to celebrate milestone anniversary.
Dover Light and Power will host an open house Sunday, Oct. 5, from 1-3 p.m. in honor of the 115th anniversary of the municipal power plant.
Visitors can take guided tours of Dover Light and Power, watch bucket truck demonstrations and even take rides. Light refreshments will be served, and guests can learn more about electric generation.
Dover Light and Power officials say they are proud of the locally owned, municipal electric plant and the employees who generate electricity and keep residents in power. The utility has provided affordable and reliable service to Dover residents for 115 years.
The public is invited to join in celebrating this milestone.
