Dover library to host annual plant sale May 9
Proceeds from the sale will be used to purchase and care for plants inside and outside the library
Dover Public Library will host its annual plant sale Saturday, May 9, from 9 a.m. to noon.
Visitors may go to the rear of the library to browse a variety of plants and take some home. A seed library also will be available. Donations will be accepted.
“Plants make the library a very welcoming place,” Denise Campbell-Johnson, interlibrary loan specialist and plant enthusiast, said. “Outside, you can admire plants that adorn the front entrance as well as the garden area in the rear of the building. Inside, you can enjoy many plants on the windowsills. I have taken cuttings from some of the plants inside the library and have nurtured them so that they will be available at the plant sale.”
People who would like to donate plants may bring them to the library’s back parking lot Thursday or Friday before the sale or the morning of the sale. Plants may be left in the area near the benches and water fountain. Volunteers and staff will be available to help Saturday morning.
Proceeds from the sale will be used to purchase and care for plants inside and outside the library.
A seed library also will be available during the sale, with free seed packets for visitors to take home.
For more information, call the library at 330-343-6123.
