Several members of the Buckeye Career Center Business Professionals of America chapter qualified for the National BPA Leadership Conference after competing at the state competition Feb. 23-24 in Columbus.
Business and marketing students earning bids to nationals were Logan McPeek of Indian Valley, first place in intermediate word processing; Madison Harmon of Claymont, second place in intermediate word processing; and Jaxon Jones of Garaway, eighth place in personal finance management.

Computer technology and network systems students earning bids to nationals were Kaiden Pack of Strasburg, second place in computer network technology; Evan Russell of New Philadelphia in computer network technology; Jackson Rice of Buckeye Career Center in device hardware and troubleshooting; Bobbie Brown of New Philadelphia and Isadore Hanlin of Malvern in server administration with Microsoft; and Jaylyn Young of Indian Valley in computer security.
Students from the Buckeye Business Academy at East Holmes also qualified for nationals. Jenna Troyer placed fourth in basic office systems and procedures, and Mosheh Crossan placed seventh in advanced accounting.
Other students placing in the top 10 at state included Crossan in parliamentary procedure concepts; Ryan Woytko of New Philadelphia in device configuration and troubleshooting; Caleb Shanklin of Strasburg in systems administration with Cisco; Edgar Allison of Carrollton and Makhi Vega of Claymont in video production team; Madeline Ward of Strasburg and Danica Martin of Carrollton in visual design team; and Scenic Whiddon of Dover in fundamental word processing.

The qualifying students will travel to Nashville, Tennessee, for the National BPA Leadership Conference May 6-10.
