Bowerston woman dies from injuries in Mill Township crash
State Highway Patrol says Dawn Coleman, 64, failed to yield at a stop sign Aug. 10; she later died Sept. 4 after being hospitalized. A second driver sustained minor injuries.

The New Philadelphia post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol investigated a two-vehicle injury crash Aug. 10 at the intersection of County Road 64 and Township Road 286 in Mill Township, Tuscarawas County.
Troopers said a 1994 Ford Taurus driven by Dawn Coleman, 64, of Bowerston, was stopped on Township Road 286 at the intersection of County Road 64 about 1:38 p.m. As she turned left onto County Road 64, she was struck by a 2012 Nissan Rogue driven by Livia Garabrandt, 18, of Dennison.
Coleman, who was found at fault for failing to yield from a stop sign, was transported to Aultman Hospital by Smith EMS. She remained hospitalized until she died from her injuries Sept. 4, according to the Stark County Coroner’s Office. She was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Garabrandt sustained minor injuries but was not transported to the hospital. She was wearing a seat belt.
The patrol was assisted at the scene by the Dennison Fire Department and Smith EMS.
