Love Our Community in Hartville has received a $2,500 donation from Spectrum through its employee-driven Spectrum Employee Community Grants program.
The grant, nominated by Spectrum employee Rudy Collins, will support renovations to the organization’s Love Our Community Mission Hub, a central space designed to serve individuals and families in need.
“Our Spectrum Employee Community Grant will help with our renovations to our Love Our Community Mission Hub,” said Kelli Viscounte, executive director of Love Our Community. “This community space is a central hub to serve our community through food, clothing and shelter needs and open it as a community space for individuals to utilize.”
Love Our Community serves more than 10,000 people each year by addressing essential needs such as food, clothing and shelter. Many individuals in the area face challenges including unemployment, lack of transportation, limited access to affordable food and inadequate health care.
As part of the same program, Serving Area Military and Veterans in Massillon also received a $2,500 grant. That organization operates a choice food pantry serving veterans and their families.
The Spectrum Employee Community Grants program recognizes nonprofits that have a meaningful connection to employees who nominate them. Since its launch in 2019, the program has supported organizations that provide essential services such as food assistance, housing support and job training.
Spectrum has committed to awarding $2.5 million in grants to at least 500 nonprofits nationwide through 2028, supporting community organizations across its 41-state service area.
Company officials said the program reflects Spectrum’s commitment to supporting local communities and the volunteer efforts of its employees.
