Lake Township zoning change recommended
Commission backs rezoning on Aultman Avenue NW for industrial expansion.
At a public hearing Jan. 27, the Lake Township Zoning Commission voted to recommend Lake Township trustees approve Amendment 25-255, a request to rezone property on Aultman Avenue NW owned by Highland Heights School Development Company LLC.
The property is currently split-zoned General Industrial (I-2) and Medium Density Residential (R-2). The proposal would maintain the split zoning while increasing the area of the industrial zone.
At its regular work session, the commission tabled approval of the previous meeting’s minutes and did not set a date for its next meeting.
The Zoning Commission consists of five members and one alternate, all appointed by Lake Township trustees. The commission considers requests for zoning district changes and amendments to the zoning resolution and serves as a recommending body to the trustees for legislative zoning changes.
