Harrison Central bowlers compete in OVAC All-Star match
All-stars from across the Ohio Valley came together March 8 to compete in the fourth annual OVAC All-Star match in St. Clairsville

All-stars from across the Ohio Valley came together March 8 to compete in the fourth annual OVAC All-Star match in St. Clairsville.
OVAC coaches cast ballots to select the all-star teams. Coaches were not permitted to vote for their own high school team members. Senior Bralee Thomas was selected to represent Harrison Central on the girls team. Senior Aiden Pettit was voted a male all-star for the Huskies. Harrison Central bowling coach Jim Runevitch was picked to coach the Ohio team for the event along with Chad Hall of Barnesville, Jim Savina of Beaver Local and Greg Steele of Martins Ferry.
West Virginia teams were coached by Dave Varner of University, Joe Peppe of Brooke, Penny Cunningham of Linsly and Scott Montgomery of Weir.
The Ohio teams prevailed in both the girls and boys divisions, with scores of 2,643-2,424 for the boys and 2,459-2,359 for the girls. An impressive 1,045 in the second game helped enable the boys win. Logan Porter of Union Local led the boys in scoring for the day. Drew Herron of Conotton Valley rolled a 240 in the second game of the series.
The Ohio girls turned in a strong performance with a 925 second game.
OVAC boys player of the year was awarded to Keegan Martin of Barnesville. His coach, Chad Hall, was awarded OVAC boys coach of the year after the team’s state tournament berth.
Olivia Takach of Buckeye Local took home player of the year honors for the girls bowlers, with her coach, Jerad Call, being named OVAC girls coach of the year.
Other area bowlers chosen for the Ohio girls team included Lilly Booth, Conotton; Ashlyn Hammond, Conotton Valley; Lani Rudibaugh, East Liverpool; Danni Riggle, East Liverpool; Kailin Hughes, St. Clairsville; Jocelyn Rosier-Wilson, Union Local; Angel Toohey, Martins Ferry; Olivia Takach, Buckeye Local; Bralee Thomas, Harrison Central; and Payton Bell, Barnesville.
Bowlers for the Ohio boys team included Keegan Martin, Barnesville; Colton Hall, Barnesville; Logan Porter, Union Local; Jayden McDole, East Liverpool; Justice Boehm, St. Clairsville; Drew Herron, Conotton Valley; Joey Warner, Conotton Valley; John Frank, Buckeye Local; Aiden Pettit, Harrison Central; and Mikey Druschell, Beaver Local.
Girls bowlers for the West Virginia team were Teaghan Garcia, Weir; Kylie Dunmyer, Weir; Makayla Moore, Weir; Mackenzie Miller, Wheeling Park; Kaylee Tuttle, Brooke; Chasity Stevey, Brooke; Brenna Gardill, Linsly; and Baylie Hinebaugh, Linsly.
The West Virginia boys team included Trey Varner, University; Josh Kisner, University; Brady Yost, Brooke; Alex Obeldobel, Brooke; Jason Beliveau, Brooke; Jayden Davis, Weir; Aaron Chao, Wheeling Park; Alex Phillips, Weir; Andrew Hoang, Linsly; and Ian Sincavich, Linsly.
