River View student earns Elks honor
Deakon Ames of Warsaw recognized for leadership and community service in Coshocton County.
Deakon Ames of River View High School was named the Elks Teen of the Month for February, recognizing his leadership, academic excellence and dedication to the community.
The son of Luke Ames and Tiffany Addy of Warsaw, he has been actively involved in numerous school organizations including the Teen Leadership Corps, National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society (serving as president), Student Council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Letterman’s Club. He also has served as treasurer of his class for four years.
In addition to his school activities, Ames contributes to the community through Coshocton County Youth Leadership, Mobile Market food distribution and serving as a sixth grade camp counselor. He also completed a senior project to renovate the school’s soccer facilities and hosted both an alumni game and a biddy camp to support student athletics.
Upon graduation Ames is undecided about where he will attend college but plans to pursue a double major in economics and finance, with the long-term goal of earning a Master of Business Administration.
