Half-Full group explores hospice care options
Central Christian Church hosts discussion on hospice services.
Representatives Rev. John Cadwell and advocate Nikki from Shriver's were the speakers at the recent Half-Full Bereavement Fellowship at Central Christian Church.
The peer-led group learned of the many services provided and offered to Shriver’s 15 county service area. Attendees had questions regarding the “when’s and how’s” of Hospice care and shared their own experiences. While hospice is considered an end-of-life service many patient recipients show improvement with consistent qualified care in their own home and the relief for the care giver(s) is immediate. Nikki encouraged people to call and ask the questions. Many times relief is just a phone call away.
There were light refreshments served and the discussion continued with emotional support material distributed by Shriver’s Hospice. The meeting ended with an attendee suggestion to tell of a funny story of loved ones gone ahead. This led to much laughter and attendees leaving feeling renewed.
The next meeting of Half-Full will be Thursday, March 26 at Central Christian
Church.
