Coshocton in Bloom offers basket sponsorships
Community members can support downtown beautification by sponsoring a hanging basket for $150
Coshocton in Bloom has been adding beautiful flowers to the downtown area for 15 years, and this year the community has a unique opportunity to support their efforts.
You can sponsor a hanging basket in the downtown area for $150. When your donation is received, you will get the location of your basket so you can watch it grow all summer. Coshocton in Bloom will maintain the care of the basket to be sure it grows well. Sponsors will be recognized on their website and at the annual dinner in September.
The Coshocton in Bloom board is finishing a new storage building near its greenhouses and is grateful to the Schooler Foundation, the Montgomery Foundation and the Coshocton County Commissioners for their support. This building allows them to have a secure area for equipment and supplies, restrooms for volunteers, and a small meeting space.
For everyone wondering why the Coshocton in Bloom volunteers think the flowers are so important, consider this. Cindy and Brian Reid lived in Blacklick and decided to drive east on Ohio 16 in August 2024.
Cindy Reid said, “We got off the bridge on 541 and noticed how beautiful all of the hanging baskets were.”
She said they drove around downtown, and the gorgeous planters full of flowers were everywhere.
“We felt Coshocton and its residents took pride in their town. Three months later we were residents,” Cindy Reid said.
Reid said after the remodel of their new home was complete, she was ready to volunteer somewhere.
“Coshocton in Bloom is a perfect fit for me. I’ve always loved to garden. CIB is on a much grander scale. Every week I learn something new. I have truly enjoyed meeting the people involved at CIB. One lady drives from New Albany to volunteer. That’s impressive. This town is full of welcoming, kind people. We love it,” Reid said.
Everyone is welcome to volunteer to help keep Coshocton beautiful. Watch the Coshocton in Bloom Facebook page for volunteer times to be posted. More information about donating or sponsoring a hanging basket also is available there.
