4-H members showcase culinary skills at Coshocton County Fair Tasting Smorgasbord
Katelyn Specht earns Best of Show for strawberry coggan as youth compete in appetizers, entrees and desserts

Nineteen 4-H project members and four Cloverbud 4-H members made and presented dishes at the 2025 Tasting Smorgasbord at the Coshocton County Junior Fair on Sept. 30.
The overall Best of Show Judge’s Choice winner was Katelyn Specht, Chili Challengers 4-H Club, with strawberry coggan.
Appetizer winners were Bodey Richard, Keene Kountry Kids 4-H Club, first place, salsa; Aaron Fisher, Keene Kountry Kids 4-H Club, second place, chocolate chip cheesecake dip; and Sophia Starcher, Hamilton Valley Hustlers 4-H Club, third place, potato balls.
Meat/Main Dish winners were Caleb Flinner, Keene Kountry Kids 4-H Club, first place, cowboy beans; Layton Massie, Magic Makers 4-H Club, second place, meatballs; and Emma McMillan, Blue Ridge 4-H Club, third place, chili.
Salads/Vegetable/Fruit winners were Nathan Adams, Mohawk Valley 4-H Club, first place, Mexican street corn, and Micah Flinner, Keene Kountry Kids 4-H Club, second place, applesauce.
Snack winners were Amaya Fisher, Keene Kountry Kids 4-H Club, first place, bacon-wrapped sausages; Taylor Richard, Keene Kountry Kids 4-H Club, second place, butterscotch bars; Laramie Massie, Magic Makers 4-H Club, third place, ice cream; and Sadler Gentile, Keene Kountry Kids 4-H Club, fourth place, no bake pumpkin cheesecake dip.
Dessert winners were Katelyn Specht, Chili Challengers 4-H Club, first place, strawberry coggan; Coleston Hunter, This-N-That 4-H Club, second place, apple crisp; Lily Skelley, Keene Kountry Kids 4-H Club, third place, Oreo dessert; and Elsee Mencer, Milfork Valley 4-H Club, fourth place, chocolate cupcakes.
