Clever Quill Bookstore is inviting the community to come together this holiday season through its Wish Tag Tree program, an initiative created to support local families who may be struggling to provide gifts for their children.
The bookstore, owned by Megan Jones, is currently seeking families in need to submit wish information for their children. The deadline to fill out a Wish Tag is Dec. 18. Community members who want to donate may do so until Dec. 23.
Designed for children ages 0 to 18, the Wish Tag Tree offers an anonymous and dignified way for parents, grandparents and guardians to request book-related gifts. Families can visit Clever Quill Bookstore in person or send a private message to have a Wish Tag created. Each tag includes the child’s age, preferred book genres and, when applicable, specific titles the child hopes to receive.
After the Wish Tags are placed on the in-store tree, community members are encouraged to choose a tag and shop for that child. As a thank-you to donors, Clever Quill Bookstore is offering 15% off an entire purchase when customers buy books for a Wish Tag.
Clever Quill hopes that by expanding outreach efforts, more families will learn about the program and feel comfortable participating.
