Nearly 200 Christmas trees stolen from Magnolia nursery

Smith Evergreen Nursery offers $500 reward after large theft from downtown lot, believes suspects used truck or trailer

Smith Evergreen Nursery is asking for the public’s help after nearly 200 Christmas trees were stolen from its downtown Magnolia lot.

Smith Evergreen Nursery is asking for the public’s help after nearly 200 Christmas trees were stolen from its downtown Magnolia lot sometime between 5 p.m. Nov. 22 and 7 a.m. Nov. 23.

The family-owned business said the theft is a significant loss for its small team of employees, who spend the year preparing trees for local families. The nursery is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the identification of those involved.

Because of the number of trees taken, the suspect likely used a box truck, flatbed truck or a truck pulling a large trailer, the business said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact local authorities.
