The three-day 43rd annual Atwood Area Fall Festival, held Oct. 3–5,  brought large crowds to the Atwood Lake Park grounds for a weekend filled with music, food, crafts, and classic cars. This year’s event featured an especially strong turnout for Sunday’s car show, which drew more than 400 vehicles from across the region.

The car show, operated by Advance Auto Parts, has become one of the most popular attractions of the festival, lining the fields with a wide variety of restored classics, muscle cars, antiques, customs and street rods.

According to Advance Auto Parts officials, a total of $8,226 was raised from the 413 registered cars. Funds were distributed to several local causes and organizations, including $2,552 to the Fairfield Township Volunteer Fire Department, $2,525 to the Sherrodsville Volunteer Fire Department, and $2,050 to support Boone Hoopes and his family during his ongoing health journey.

In addition, $1,126 was allotted to the festival committee to help cover event expenses, according to Tristan Cutshall, district manager for Advance Auto Parts.

More than $1,000 in Advance Auto Parts gift cards were distributed to participants, and another $1,000 in giveaways went to attendees throughout the day. Awards were presented to car owners in various categories, and spectators filled the area throughout the afternoon to admire the rows of vehicles on display.

The Touch of Spring band was among the various entertainers during the Atwood Area Fall Festival held last weekend.

Beyond the car show, the festival offered a full schedule of activities, including live entertainment, craft vendors, food booths and demonstrations. Local and regional bands performed throughout the weekend.

The Touch of Spring band was among the entertainers performing at the festival, providing music for visitors gathered near the main stage. The group included Joe Martin, Kay Lorson, Gene McConahay, Tim Darnell and Joe Carrick.

The Atwood Area Fall Festival, a long-standing autumn tradition, continues to draw thousands of visitors each year and remains one of the area’s most anticipated community events.
