Minerva Rotary hosts full-house Halloween party at community building

Costumes, candy and community spirit filled the Minerva Community Building as families gathered for the annual Rotary-sponsored celebration.

First place in the group category went to the Disney Villains.

A full house gathered Oct. 30 at the Minerva Community Building for a Halloween party that featured costume judging and refreshments provided by the Minerva Rotary Club. Awards were presented across several age groups and costume categories.

The Mayor’s Award was presented by Minerva Mayor Mason Boldizar to Elouise, whose costume portrayed Elphaba from "Wicked."

Rotary District Governor Kim Weiss and her husband, Dan, attended the event dressed as Mary Poppins and a chimney sweep.

The Halloween celebration is one of many community projects organized by the Minerva Rotary Club, whose members uphold the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self.”
