From 1965 FPS Files
Nancy Totton was crowned Malvern High School’s 1965 homecoming queen.
A minstrel show titled “Swanee River Jubilee” was staged in the Carrollton Junior High School auditorium by members of the Carrollton Junior Chamber of Commerce.
Phillip P. Simpson was the lone senior at Carrollton High School honored for his performance on the National Merit Scholarship qualifying contest.
A homecoming crowd of 1,978 enthusiastic fans witnessed a show of power by the Carrollton High Warriors as they remained undefeated and unscored on by downing the Claymont Mustangs 44-0 at the fairgrounds field.

A songbook was apparently the only salvageable property from a fire that destroyed the Fox Township Grange Hall on Nickel Road (Twp. Rd. 299), approximately five miles east of Mechanicstown the night of Oct. 8.
James Morvatz and Frank Kell served as co-chairmen of a fly-in that included plane rides over Carroll County and was held at the Carroll County Airport.
Attendance was estimated at 40,000 at the fifth annual Algonquin Mill Fall Festival held at the Algonquin Steam and Flouring Mill in Petersburg.
Photos of Kevin Spears, Barry Gaines, Ralph Brady, Scott Wade, Jeff McClelland, Jeff Gween and Jerry Kirkpatrick were published in The FPS when the Warriors powered to second place in the Class AA division of their own invitational cross-country meet.

A record crowd estimated at 90,000 to 100,000 attended the 1985 Algonquin Mill Fall Festival, where a dedication ceremony for a new flagpole was held.
Three men were sworn in by Dellroy Mayor David Jones to their respective posts. They included Justin Graham, council; Richard Hodge, street commissioner; and Dellroy police officer Tom Shafer as marshal.
Ground was broken for a new McDonald’s restaurant on state Route 43 in Carrollton.
Miss Lori Boggs was crowned the 1985 homecoming queen at Minerva High School.
Minerva turned the tomahawks on the Warriors, scalping out a 14-0 victory over Carrollton on 327 yards of ground attacks.

Emily Stine and Ben Sperduto had lead roles in the production of “The Family Man” at Carrollton High School.
Roger Thomas was elected president of the Carroll County Young Republicans Club.
Mindy Richeson was crowned Minerva High School’s 1995 homecoming queen.
Carrollton’s Darrell Shafer was pictured lifting off a 27-yard field goal to tie the score at 3-3 early in the game against Marlington, which came away with a 31-11 win.

Sloan McCall was crowned Minerva High School’s 2005 homecoming queen.
Knicker’s Grille at Carroll Meadows Golf Course was being managed by Jo Christie as a family-owned eatery.
Jen Foster finished in the lead spot for the Lady Warriors, while Zach Adams produced the Carrollton boys’ best effort in the cross-country run at Garaway.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held for a new 62-bed assisted living facility on state Route 9.
Kady Davis was crowned Carrollton High School’s 2015 homecoming queen.
Members of the Carroll County Airport Authority board included Karen Tuttle, John Cross, Al Jeske, Harry Stansbury, Scott Miday, Dave Fitzgerald and Sonny Fitzsimmons.
The Carrollton Warriors flew past the Alliance Aviators by a score of 49-14 at Carrollton’s Community Field.
